In the 1950's I received the
"first goverment license-permit issued for a mobile television"
over the years i've maintained online a Kentucky carcam webpage. To bring a mobile cam online creates expensive problems broadcasting on the internet live even with a ham radio license that permitted a lot of power never was practical. So today most live online mobiles are done with a handheld camcorder, then the video file is uploaded via FTP from the home-shop workstation computer to the server. When Space Satellites came along they did work for mobiles but require huge hardware mounted on vehicle and only worked when the mobile wasn't in motion. Next was the big heavy costly cellular mobile phones with a few local cell towers, this was a little better but required a lot of extra custom hardware. Now its the year 2008 and i've used the new Nokia cell mobile-video phone for a few months that also works with WiFI Hotspots. The private limousine with 360 degree outside cameras for security w/motion detectors and interior cameras. This creates a modern day problem connecting all the cameras from a multiplex scanner into a laptop via a tiny cell phone for a working online wireless mobile cam environment. (more later)
