Sony CCD cameras is a good "see-through" device. Particularly monochrome (black and white) exview or super had CCD cameras which have very high sensitivity .1 to .0001 . This is because, generally, monochrome cameras doesn't need any thing in-between optical lens and the CCD to correct the color.
We are talking black and white CCD video not color..To keep it simple For X-ray see-thru vision its monochrome only..
This has nothing to do with actual X-rays, since color is a matter of spectral properties at optical frequencies.
You can get a perfectly
acceptable "See-Thru" image with the CCD of a Sony camera with the shutter speeds of 1/4 to 1/8 per second is standard, experimental up to 1/60 per second detects movement without bluring..
Modified optics internally can-see from 330nm to 1200nm ultraviolet
For these cameras to work you need a common neutral Density Filter mounted on the front lens (that you can remove easy)..
Your focus will be in a narrow range and anything moving may blur on some cameras..
Experiment also with 850nm and 1000nm filters

Incandescent Blacklights There are incandescent bulbs made with deep violet-blue bulbs which largely filter out visible light. Longer UVA wavelengths get through the glass and are not blocked by the dark colored filter dye. Most visible violet and some visible blue, as well as a wide range of infrared and the longest, less visible of visible red wavelengths. Some traces of other visible wavelengths get through. These bulbs are a convenient source of some UV to cause fluorescent paints, dyes, and other substances and objects to glow. These bulbs are quite safe, although it may not be a good idea to stare into one from short distances for long periods of time. They generally have hotter running filaments that last only about 500 hours or so. Their is now a custom street light model HQV-400 400w U/V Blacklight Blub available on Ebay very cheap that are used in disco's, stage effects ect. before this they was homemaded in the garage with smaller 175w street light bulbs, for entertainment only this is some of the steps taking to construct a blacklight using a mercury vapor street light contained in a METAL fixture w/exhaust fan and a filtered glass lens output. A "Blacklight filter" filters out the visible light and only allows blacklight to pass through in this application with the U/V-rich mercury vapor lamp. Filters are expense and hard to find, the way around this is Ebay bargains some of these items may work like violet stage light gels, blacklight gels, dichroic filters are better, since they do not absorb the non-UV light so they operate much cooler, crown glass, a #10 filter used in the Dupont Varigram and the woods glass blacklight filters..This type of ultraviolet blacklight has a life of about 25,000 hours.
TEST..Anything you think could be used for a blacklight bandpass filter, take your flashlight and shine through the object toward a blacklight poster or a known blacklight item like a vitamin B12 crushed in vingar will shine bright yellow.. FILTERED-UNFILTERED BLACKLIGHT?
Filtered lamps makes them more invisible to the naked eye. You can always tell a unfiltered blacklight lamp because they are white when turned off rather than black. Look for BLB on the part number when purchasing a blacklight, this means its a blacklight with a blue glass tube (Avoid the "BL" model).
LED ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT EMITTING DIODE.

SPECIAL U/V WAVELENGTHS
The three Ultra Violet light special wavelengths where the UVA engery is most effect at 357.7 nm, 380.5 nm, 391.4 nm these frequencys have been detected beaming toward earth from space as a high energy ray. On earth these particular wavelengths are known as "U/V Blacklight" long wave lamps that are use to make blacklight posters glow and are generally considered harmless. U/V blacklight with special wavelengths are good for ghost detection. Make sure that any UV sources used for your haunt fall into UV-A, preferably 365 to 400 nm. Lamps sold for entertainment purposed probably fall into this safe area. They should be specifically marked "black light BLB".
SPECIAL YELLOW U/V LIGHT
Ghost are generally considered to be
insensitive to yellow light at a special wavelength of 592nm,
which is in the yellow part of the ultraviolet spectrum.
SPECIAL GREEN U/V LIGHT
Blacklight 357.7nm mixed with U/V green at 510nm special wavelengths acts as a pathway.
